Must have Ingredients for a Healthy Salad

Salads are great accompaniments to have with your food. They not only add color to your food, they also make it taste much better than it did alone. Here are a few ingredients that make every salad delicious as well as healthy.

1) Beetroot

It adds a deep red hue to your salad. It also magnifies the taste of your dressing and supplies iron, potassium, magnesium and vitamins C, A and B6 to your body. This makes it a good choice when it comes to health concerns as well.

2) Spinach, Cabbage and other green leafy vegetables.

These can be lightly fried or finely cut and added. They add a crunchy texture to the salad and have numerous health benefits too.

3) Olive Oil

It is the most nutritious oil and has no side effects if eaten raw. It can be added to salad dressings and to the salad itself, in the end to give it a tasty, glistening garnish. It provides the body with anti-oxidants and vitamins E and K.

4) Fruits

Fruits should be added to a salad to introduce a vibrant combination of colors along with a delicious taste and many vitamins that benefit the body.

5) Nuts

All nuts have different taste and nutritional value. You should add nuts according to the taste you’re opting for in your salad. Nuts are very small but they are nutritional powerhouses.

6) Seasoning

Go for salad dressings, they add to the nutritional value of your salad. Choose natural seasoning ingredients to give a fresh flavor to your salad.

7) Chicken and cheese

Add milk products to increase the protein content in the salad.
